Human Capital Lab Executive Director Rich Douglas has been invited to speak at the Association for Talent Development ‘s (ATD) annual international conference May 19-22 in New Orleans.
In his presentation, Douglas will make the case for the creation of a professional doctorate in talent development.
“As a profession, talent development must continue to create not only new and innovative practices, but also the leaders capable of carrying them out,” Douglas said.
A professional doctorate focused on talent development and strategic leadership, one that talent development professionals could complete while continuing their careers, would accomplish this, Douglas added.
The ATD international conference is the world’s largest learning and development conference, uniting professionals from across the globe. This year’s four-day event will attract more than 9,500 attendees.
Douglas is a regular speaker and author in the field of talent development, with more than 40 years’ experience in training, leadership and delivering solutions for businesses and organizations. During a career that spans the for-profit and non-profit sectors, he previously held leadership positions at AT&T, Corrections Corporation of America, the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the Department of Homeland Security.
