WoodmenLife leaders join Human Capital Lab Podcast

Human Capital Lab™

Human Capital Lab Executive Director Rich Douglas recently spoke with WoodmenLife CEO Denise McCauley and Director of Culture & Talent Development Marsha Graesser on the Human Capital Lab Podcast. One topic they explored is the importance of creating strong workforce bonds, from the onboarding process to continuous growth and even through offboarding when employees leave the company.

“We’ve had amazing people leave this organization and, you know, it was heartbreaking because you miss them, you miss their skill set, but you want them to grow,” Graesser said. “But we see people come back to this organization, and that speaks volumes. And one of the reasons is Denise or someone else is intentional about reaching out and connecting with that person and saying, ‘Hey, how’s it going?’ Being their cheerleader, even if they’re not on our team, but really valuing the person. It’s those little things that really matter, but you have to be intentional. You have to take time. You can’t make it up.”

WoodmenLife, based in Omaha, is a not-for-profit life insurance company serving customers nationwide since 1890.
