Bellevue University has named Rich Douglas the new executive director of the Human Capital Lab.
Douglas brings more than 40 years’ experience in training, leadership and delivering solutions for businesses and organizations, in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. He previously held leadership positions at AT&T, Corrections Corporation of America, the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
The Human Capital Lab was founded more than 15 years ago. Douglas said he’s thrilled to lead the organization as it continues to evolve.
“This is a unique opportunity,” Douglas said. “The Human Capital Lab and what we want to accomplish aligns perfectly with what I’ve championed my entire career, which is economic mobility and improving the lives of the national workforce through access to education.”
A retired U.S. Air Force officer, Douglas has been a faculty member for several universities and holds numerous advanced degrees: a Master of Business Administration from National University; a Doctor of Philosophy from Union Institute and University (specializing in nontraditional higher education), and a Doctor of Social Science (in human resource development) from the University of Leicester. He also holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), and Professional Certified Coach (PCC) designations.
